Hilary Sugar P.A.-C
|
|
RHEUMATOLOGY
|
|
Hilary has had a passion for rheumatology since her own diagnosis with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1997.
She has first hand knowledge of the pain and struggle such a disease brings to each patient, but also
knows very well how patients can triumph over even the most debilitating symptoms. Hilary’s goal for all
of her patients is “life without limits”. “No disease should create a smaller world for us. We need to take
control of our disease, so it doesn’t control us!”
Hilary graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1996. She then
worked in the health care industry in the field of Continuing Medical Education (CME) creating
educational programs for doctors and nurses. She created programs for national medical organizations
such as American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Primary Medicine Today, American College of
Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Diabetes Association.
After many years in the CME field, Hilary decided to further her education at Seton Hall University and
received her Master of Science - Physician Assistant in May 2009. She graduated with honors and with
an award for excellence in clinical achievement. She board certified by the National Commission of
Physician Assistants. Hilary is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, The New
Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants and the American College of Rheumatology. She is
currently finishing a Postgraduate Certificate from the American College of Rheumatology/Association of
Rheumatology Health Professionals in Adult and Pediatric Rheumatology. Hilary has also published in
the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (JAAPA).
We are thrilled to welcome such a talented clinician to our practice. Hilary will allow us to expand hours
and make ourselves more available to our patients. She will be available to see patients in the North
Arlington, Bayonne and Oradell offices.
